The National Bank of Kazakhstan announced a decision to lower the base rate, which was retained at 16.75% since July 2023, Kazinform reports via the NB’s press office.

«The Monetary Policy Committee of the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan has made a decision to reduce the base rate to 16.5% per annum with a corridor of +/1 -1 percentage point. The decision was taken based on the renewed forecast of the National Bank, data analysis and evaluation of the balance of inflation risks,» a statement reads.

The next scheduled decision of the National Bank's Monetary Policy Committee on the base rate will be announced on October 6, 2023, at 12:00 Astana time.
